ophelia-aubrey

I gathered you all here today to honor the death of our dear late Ophelia. She was nothing short of a beautiful maiden whose days were short. Oh how we all wish she could have lived longer, and experience more. Her time here on earth were well lived. Up until the very end. Ophelia's sudden death seemed to have been prompted by the murder of her father Polonius. She loved him dearly and his death provoked her to go insane.we are unclear of how exactly Our dear maiden passed, whether it was an accident or on purpose but because of her standings with the royal family she will receive a christian burial.
Our love for her is grand, but does not compare to the love Hamlet had for her. Unfortunately for them their love was nothing short of a tragedy. Ophelia was forced to break away from her true love, under the order of her father. then was told to redeliver Hamlets gifts in front of the new king. Their break up was another reason for Ophelia's poise to be corrupted and changed into madness. Shes been through a lot, but if gave her a beautifully bothered look.

I feel bad for our lost beauty, her life was stolen by a current and a heavy dress. I now give this flower to Ophelia. It is a symbol of my love, and is a gift she once kindly bestowed upon me. She loved flowers, I wonder if it was because they are just as beautiful as she was. I will place this on her casket, and we will begin to set her down into the place were she will now lay forever.
Unfortunately for Ophelia she was running through the six with her woes and she must have tripped into a lake. May the lord bless her resting soul. Poor Ophelia.

Hamlets dilemma- aubrey

I loved this scene. Hamlets dilemma was very interesting because it let us into Hamlets mind. We could literally read his thoughts. My opinion on Hamlet as changed drastically from when his character was first introduced to me. He seems more calculating in his time of crave. This scene automatically let me know that Hamlets craziness is nothing but an act. He is very capable of thinking clearly. If he were as crazy as he leads on to be, Claudius would be dead.
Some people feel as though Hamlet is wrong for wanting to kill .However, I feel the exact opposite. I feel like Claudius should be brought to his demise. His guilt does not seem genuine enough to me, and his prayer was in vain. I want Claudius to crawl on his knees at Hamlet, and the kingdoms feet and reveal his lies.
Hamlet wants his revenge on Claudius because his father was killed without being able to repent for his sins. His plan is so smart to wait until Claudius is dinning so that he can be sent to the middle of heaven and hell like the old king.
I love the way the was scene was shot in the Golden haired Hamlets version. It was so suspenseful and it had me on my toes the entire time. I was a little scared when I heard Hamlet talking, I thought he was going to get caught, but it was all said in his head. I jumped at the thought of how close hamlets dagger was to Claudius’ head. Oh my Goodness how I screamed within my head when they showed a quick clip of how it would have been like if Hamlet actually fully pressed the dagger through the whole. I loved Hamlets dilemma because it got me thinking.,

Aubrey- to be or not to be

The second scene of Hamlet was very interesting. Hamets soliloquy exposed his true anger instead of his sadness. His quench for death was shown as he seemed to almost pray for his last breaths. He spoke to the bones in the tomb almost as if he were asking how great death tasted. the dark tomb masked a third of Hamet's face leaving us to guess most of his expressions. The small light that was given was dim, and showed his greed. he looked like he wanted to steal the place of one of the dead bodies.
The first scene was very sad. the person who played Hamlets character used his body language to portray sadness. For example, he lays on a rock as to say he has completely given up on living his life. He sighs after every sentence and speaks very slowly , and every single one of his movements were sluggish. he sauntered around the cliff with his feet dragging. The scenery was engulfed in a white cloud of smoke, giving Hamlet a place to disapear.
The third hamlet scene was done in front of a mirror, which i found interesting. Hamlet spoke to himself, but to polonius and claudius at the same time. i loved the dementions of the scene and how his emotion was directed directy to himself.it was amost as if he was talking himsef out of suicide. unfortunately, i didnt quite understand the scenery in this version. Why was there so much light in such a dark scene?
The most modern take confused me a bit. Hamlet did his scene in a space that was familiar to him, which was in a blockbuster. he walked down the action aisle twice as a destructive movie played in the background. Unfortunately, this Hamlet seemed a bit disconnected to me.

The Three Hamlets

Each version of "Hamlet" scene 1 is portrayed differently to me. One gives a take on hamlet in an older era, one completely sticks to the play down to color of the characters hair and eyes, and the last was a modern take on it. Each had coinciding characteristics which brought all the plays together. Some being the mood of scene one. The dark lighting gave off an ominous vibe, one that was fit for the ghost of a king.

Hamlet in the first version seemed to be crazed and non composed. A response to a fathers death and seeing his ghost after should be nothing less than a traumatizing experience. However, I feel like the first Hamlet might have taken the composure a son of a former king should have had and masked it in full craze. His movements were very wild for a prince. I did enjoy the feeling the first video gave off. There was way more emotion in both the ghost and hamlet. Which may have been the reason for his outrageous response.

The second video of the first scene was much more according to the book. I loved how the characters physically represented what the men and woman of Denmark would have looked like. Unfortunately I felt as though the ghost was emotionally disconnected whereas the first ghost evoked too much emotion. While watching the scene I didn't feel a fatherly vibe from the ghost while talking to Hamlet. I felt like he was just spouting words from a script in an angry voice. The ghost focused more on anger and revenge than anything. Even while saying "remember me" to his only son Hamlet.

I did not enjoy the first scene in the third Hamlet, I thought the modern take on hamlet was a bit unnecessary. Although the ghost did give off the right amount of emotion hamlets reactions to his fathers words weren't that good. He seemed so surprised at the fact that his father was present as a ghost that he didn't put the actual hamlets personality in full effect. Hamlet was a great listener and he remembers everything anyone says to him and puts it to use. The hamlet in the third video seemed almost dumb.

All in all each play had its similarities which tie into each other.

In addition how come the ghost in the third hamlet had to walk through a door? If he were a real ghost he cold have just walked through the door. Just saying.
